Madden Exporter

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about exporting Madden NFL franchise data with Madden Exporter—from setup and usernames to troubleshooting and privacy.

What is Madden Exporter?

Madden Exporter is a free web tool that helps Madden NFL players download franchise and league data from the official Madden Companion app. After you export from the Companion app, your data appears on Madden Exporter where you can download it as JSON, CSV, or Excel files for spreadsheets, custom tools, league websites, or personal analysis.

Is Madden Exporter an official EA product?

No. Madden Exporter is an independent fan-made utility created by Madden community members. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Electronic Arts, EA Sports, or the NFL. You still need a valid Madden NFL game and EA account to use the official Companion app.

How do I export data using the Madden Companion app?

  1. Create a free Madden Exporter account and choose a username.
  2. Download the Madden NFL Companion app on iOS or Android.
  3. In the Companion app, open your franchise league and go to the export screen.
  4. Enter your personal export URL shown on Madden Exporter (it includes your username).
  5. Choose the data categories you want to export and submit the export from the Companion app.
  6. Return to Madden Exporter, open View Data, and download your files.

The full export guide has the Companion app walkthrough. The home page has a shorter three-step overview.

Why do I need a username?

Your username is part of the export URL the Madden Companion app sends data to. Each account has a unique username so exports are routed to the correct user. Usernames are typically lowercase letters and numbers; choose something you will remember because you will enter it in the Companion app.

What export URL should I enter in the Companion app?

After signing in, open View Data from the navigation menu. The export instructions show the exact URL to paste into the Companion app. The URL is unique to your account and tells EA where to send your league export. Copy it carefully—an incorrect username in the URL is the most common reason exports do not appear.

What is the difference between free and Pro?

Free accounts can export league data through the Companion app workflow. Pro adds free agent exports, priority support, and supports continued development of the tool. Pro is a one-time $5 purchase (no subscription) with lifetime access, billed securely through Stripe. Upgrade from Account Settings.

What file formats can I download?

Exports are available as JSON (structured data for apps and scripts), CSV (for Excel, Google Sheets, and other spreadsheet tools), and Excel workbooks. You can download individual categories or bundled zip files depending on what was exported from your league.

My export is not showing up. What should I check?

  • Confirm you entered the correct export URL with your exact username.
  • Make sure you completed the export in the Companion app and saw a success message there.
  • Verify you are signed in to the same Madden Exporter account you used when copying the URL.
  • Wait a minute and refresh View Data—large exports can take a moment to process.
  • Check that you exported from the correct franchise league and week.

If it still fails, email support with your username, platform, and what you tried. See the contact page.

How long is my data stored?

Exported league data is stored so you can return and download it later. We retain data while your account is active and as needed to operate the service. You can request deletion by contacting support. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Is my data private?

Yes. League exports are tied to your account and are not publicly browsable. Only you (and site administrators for support purposes) can access your export data. We do not sell personal data. Read the Privacy Policy for complete information about cookies, analytics, PostHog, and AdSense.

Can commissioners use this for online leagues?

Yes. Many league commissioners export rosters, schedules, standings, and team stats to build custom league sites, power rankings, or trade trackers. CSV and Excel downloads work well with spreadsheet workflows; JSON works well if you are building your own tools.
